There are many schools of thought surrounding how Thai massage should be taught, however we firmly believe that if we are to maintain a professional image and be recognized as a valuable practice within the health and wellness community, we must adapt the methods taught in Thailand to better suit our circumstances.
Our trainings focus on optimal biomechanics, the use of anatomy and creating a deeply relaxing client experience at the same time as honouring the heart-centred (Metta Bhavana) roots of this technique. Not only is our focus centred on relaxation as well as the therapeutic applications of technique, but we will also spend considerable amounts of time on enhancing the practitioner experience by optimizing safety and ease of practice.
We believe it is long overdue for the world of Western science to be joined with the wisdom of the East. By studying Thai massage with this perspective we begin to see how each tradition can complement one another to create a more complete picture of the body-mind-spirit phenomenon, allowing us to experience both the academic and intuitive sides of this incredible bodywork modality.
When it comes to hosting us, we aim to create strong and long-term relationships with course hosts and to develop an international community of the highest quality massage practitioners. Finding the right hosts for our trainings is something we take seriously. A number of conversations much first be had in order to see if we are a good fit and can successfully work together. Hosting our trainings requires generous amounts of communication and commitment. The majority of the marketing efforts for a training are up to the host, and even though we walk through a marketing and promotions plan with you, the responsibility to execute on the plan becomes yours. It’s also important to us to have open lines of communication, to ensure the trainings are successful.
