Our Commitment to Quality:
No other Thai Massage educational institution requires continuing education. With part of our purpose focused on improving the standards of education and the quality of Thai yoga therapy practice, we think it’s essential that we’re always levelling-up our knowledge and skills.
Our Continuing Education system is designed to be accessible to certified practitioners regardless of geographical location, financial constraints and/or time limitations. The Continuing Education system requires that you:
• complete a minimum of 21 Core Continuing Education Units (cCEUs) within your cycle, or
• complete 41 Peripheral Continuing Education Units (pCEUs) within your cycle.
Certified practitioners are required to adhere to all aspects of the Quality Assurance Program, beginning in their first cycle of active Certification. Please expand the sections below to get more detail on the our continuing education process:
The Principal Certification cycle is a duration of 18 months. Your renewal date is the 1st day of the month following the 18-month period from your date of certification. For example, if your certification date is August 5th (or on any date in August), 2018 your cycle end-date is March 1st, 2020.
The Enhanced Certification cycle is a duration of 36 months. As per the Principal Certification cycle calculation, your Enhanced Certification renewal date is the 1st day of the month following the 36-month period from your date of certification. For Example, if your certification date is August 5th (or on any date in August), 2018 your cycle end-date is September 1st, 2021.
It is your responsibility to monitor your renewal dates and submit on time. In order to support you, we will provide you with two reminder notifications by email:
• One when there is 4-months remaining on your certification cycle.
• One when there is 2-months remaining on your certification cycle.
Please note that if email delivery fails, or if we miss notifying you, it is still your responsibility to report your CEUs on time. We require that you submit your request for CEU approval 1-month prior to the end of your certification cycle.
Continuing education is designed to enhance competency, knowledge, skill and your overall ability to take the best care of your clients. An activity can only be included within your CEU reporting that contributes to one or all of the above. The topics included within the Continuing Education umbrella must be in some way related to your Navina® Thai Yoga Therapy practice. We have created a list below to assist you when making your selections for Continuing Education. CEUs are calculated at 1 CEU per 1 hour of education and training that satisfies the above requirements.
Every certified practitioner must submit their application for CEU approval on time unless they participate in one Navina® Enhanced Module within their reporting cycle. If you complete one Enhanced Module during this time, your certification renewal is automatic. If instead you are unable to, or do not participate in a Navina® Enhanced Module, you must submit your CEU application as per the following standards.
Below you’ll find an approved modality list, where any educational offerings that fall under one or more of the modalities listed is considered an approved activity. Please also see the list of modalities that are denied for CEUs. For any educational offerings that are not listed under any of the modalities below, please see the Modality Tool, where you may submit your Continuing Education for approval. When you participate in education that does fall under one of the listed approved modalities, you are to use the self-reporting tool for your CEU submission.
You are required to complete and submit your CEU application a minimum of 1-month prior to the date your certification ends (your cycle end-date as described above). Submissions are only accepted via this online forum. Paper applications will not be accepted.
When using the Modality Tool, please include as much detail and information as possible to assist us in assessing whether a particular modality is fit to be approved or not.
Remember, if you participate in one Navina® Enhanced Module per cycle, you do not need to check this list. This is only for use if you are unable to or do not intend on participating in an Enhanced Module. In that instance any workshop, course, training, seminar or similar education opportunity taken in-person, that falls within one of the following modalities or areas of study AND satisfies the minimum of one Competency Category (listed below), is classified as a “core” Continuing Education activity and is guaranteed CEU approval.

“Peripheral” Continuing Education Units include any educational opportunities that satisfy the same criteria as cCEUs, except that they take place out of a classroom in a format other-than in-person training. These forums include but are not limited to: online courses, textbooks, peer reviewed literature, vlogs, blogs, podcasts and similar digital channels. pCEU’s are given timing assumptions based on average consumption of information. Each timing assumption has this clearly defined in the pCEU reporting template.
When submitting your request for Peripheral Continuing Education Unit approval, you are required to attach your summary notes of all materials consumed. Notes should include comments on how learning materials will/have influenced your skill and ability to practice Navina® Thai Yoga Therapy in addition to a summary of content. The more detail your notes have, the greater the likelihood is of attaining approval without additional questions and information being required by our Quality Assurance team. The formatting of your notes and source referencing must follow the pCEU reporting template.
Maintaining consistent effort towards continuously expanding your theoretical and practical knowledge, we recommend that you partake in continuing education every year. We do however recognize that sometimes timing, accessibility and extraneous factors come into play. Therefore our Quality Assurance Program allows you to carry over a maximum of one full cycle of CEUs to the proceeding cycle. Any additional credits will not be usable towards your CEU application, and additional education must be completed within the subsequent cycle. (For example: whether you take 42 cCEUs or 63 cCEUs this year, the maximum length of time this will cover for your certification renewal is the current cycle and the next one (totalling 3 years). The cycle after that is not covered.)
